S. Idaho priest back at parish following sexual misconduct Fort Mill Times MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho — The Roman Catholic Diocese in Boise says a priest from Mountain Home has returned after an eight-month absence from Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish and told parishioners he engaged in sexual misconduct with an adult. Diocese officials in a press release say Rev. Raul Covarrubias, 63, returned Saturday. Officials gave no information about the other adult. Covarrubias served as pastor at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in Mountain Home since 1992. He was placed on paid leave in September after the allegations surfaced. Bishop Michael Driscoll says Covarrubias attended a residential treatment facility and that he's confident Covarrubias can return as parish priest. |
